DR & AJU has advised our clients on contract negotiations, financing, compliance and dispute resolution in the region of Africa/Middle East for over a decade.
Korea has had strong trade ties with the Sub-Saharan Africa which is expected to be the fastest growing region in the world as measured by the global GDP index. Korean government has stepped up its support for investment in Africa in recent years, pledging USD 20 billion of investment by 2020.
Along with the rapid growth of the region, DR & AJU has served public and private sector clients on strategic development and management issues involved in various projects in the region. In 2014, DR & AJU launched a designated African desk headed by a South African-qualified lawyer. The African desk actively engages in legal matters based on the understanding and experience in the unique nature of the region. Primary services for our clients entail energy, construction, TMT, shipping, FDI, M&A, transnational IP and international arbitration.

Advised a Korea-based power plant company on the legal risk entailed in the photovoltaic power generation project in South Africa and guarantee by the relevant local government

Advised the major shareholder of South Africa-based hotel, St. Michaels hotel, on the sale of its shares
